Ramon Casanova

My research interests focus on the development and/or application of new mathematical methodologies to the analysis and integration of high-dimensional biomedical data. Currently, most of my time is dedicated to the application of machine learning and datamining techniques to analyze large clinical databases related to aging that contain very heterogeneous information (e.g., neuroimaging, genetic, cognitive, and laboratory data). Central topics in my research are the development of metrics to assess disease risk (e.g. Alzheimer’s, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, diabetic retinopathy). More general areas of interest are neuroimaging, Imaging genetics, ill-posed problems, regularization theory, mathematical analysis of learning processes, network analyses methods, datamining, signal processing, computer programming, and bioinformatics.
